MeetingPackage is the global leader in changing how hotels sell their meeting rooms – creating digital automation and efficiencies to the over USD 600 billion M&E industry that is still mainly offline and manual.

Tell us about yourself?

In 2012, with a reputation for innovative, team-led business growth, I joined a private-equity backed company serving the UK insurance broking market. In 3 years, I generated £10m in sales with a partner network of 120 brokers, together with strategic alliances with blue-chip players. Seeking a more senior role and international exposure, I moved to Lanyon (now Cvent), providing software-as-a-service solutions internationally to the travel, transportation, and hospitality sectors. Responsibilities as General Manager focused on both preparing the company for a successful merger and then assuring revenues afterwards, transforming everything from operations to quality standards. I built and led a 250-man, top performing team, alongside a 1500-man outsourcing operation in India. Bucking market trends, employee engagement scores increased throughout.

In 2017 I joined HRS Group, a leading global hotel solutions/technology provider in business travel. As Vice President I worked with the senior leadership team to transform performance, create strategic alliances, and generally streamline operations. My team won two performance awards during this time.

Following Corona, I left HRS in May 2020 and joined MeetingPackage in December 2020 having watched the progress of this start-up very closely as it is fixes the last area of hospitality that has avoided digitisation.

What is the inspiration behind your business?

The inspiration comes from the founder who experience enormous frustration trying to find an available meeting room that was also within his budget.

From there, we now help approximately 3,000 Hotels and Event venues to increase their revenue and decrease their costs in meetings and events.

Our solution has increased meetings and events sales conversion up by nearly 700% and decreased the time associated to creating RFP/Booking management from hours to minutes. In addition, the impact on customer and employee satisfaction is another huge advantage.

What is your magic sauce?

MeetingPackage is not a stand alone platform like all the competition, the secret is that all the information required to sell meetings and events online comes from a single source, either the on premise technology deployed by the hotel or venue or our own Venue and Sales Management platform if there is no need for the hotel or venue to have on premise technology.

Where do you see your company going in 5 years time?

Our vision is to be the largest most loved Meetings and Events software for venues globally by 2025.

We will have over 100,000 venues connected with live availability!

What has been your biggest setback so far?

Corona Virus. No question about it. Hospitality as an industry was, by far, the most affected industry in the pandemic. Meetings and Events is unquestionably the most affected sector of the hospitality industry. It continues to affect our growth which makes our significant growth even more impressive.

What is the next big challenge for your business?

Currently, hiring the right talent at the right time in the right area of the world is the current biggest challenge.

How do people get involved/buy into your vision?

We would like to collaborate with all hospitality software vendors.
