Tell us about yourself?
I am from Morocco, I am a world class businessman, investor and executive who has been through 10 countries including Japan, Qatar, South Korea, Canada and others.
I served in the Royal Moroccan Air Force as a pilot participated in aerospace research in South Korea, worked in an engineering company that had projects in Japan, Qatar and Indonesia, where I later became CEO of the V-line company where it pioneered a 7 MM USD investment in the Middle East.
I moved to Portugal in 2018, the year I founded GrowIN Portugal, we attracted several stakeholders to the Algarve, and recently I was appointed CEO of Algrave Tech Hub, a technology complex located in the capital of Algarve, Portugal.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
This business is designed to leverage the international experience of companies and the use of technology to facilitate the often complex and expensive process of incorporating, managing and growing a startup overseas.
What is your magic sauce?
We differentiate ourselves by having a fully online Marketplace, to access our offer and request the provision of our services just access our Marketplace that is on our website, from there you can create, register, configure and manage your company remotely, the entire process is done online, from initial registration to payment, receipt of correspondence and transmission of instructions.
The platform provides all the necessary technologies to manage a company in Portugal, the management, marketing and sales of the service are also ensured by the internal structure of the company.
Where do you see your company going in 5 years time?
After 5 years we will certainly be in the Algarve in Faro, something that does not cross our minds is leaving this region, but we do have SMART objectives, attract more than 150 international startups to Portugal and help more than 100 Portuguese SMEs to expand beyond Portugal.
Our strategic objectives for the coming years is to contribute to position the Algarve as a centre for international technology startups and Portugal as a welcoming country for innovation, eliminate any bureaucratic barriers between international entrepreneurs and business in Portugal and help position the Portuguese startups as European references for advanced technology and innovation.
What has been your biggest setback so far?
Our biggest setback so far has mainly been the pandemic, as the company was born in 2018 and when it should have had the boom was when the pandemic broke out.
Many of our services suffer huge delays as there is often overcrowding in public services or they are closed and appointments cannot be made to deal with often important documents, the need for client testing to come to Portugal is another obstacle.
What is the next big challenge for your business?
Our main challenge is internationalisation in South America, specifically in Mexico, in order to broaden our horizons and thus increase the visibility of the company.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
