Relate is a tech relationship company developing digital services to help people create more meaningful and healthy romantic relationships. Most known for its alternative dating app Relate Date where singles connect based on personal values, they also have an app for couples to deepen and develop their relationship through science-based exercises (Relate Boost). The company also produces a popular relationship podcast, a webinar series with relationship experts, and a range of articles and self-assessment tests on the topic of dating and relationships, in order to help all people to better relationships through an increased awareness of oneself and others.
Tell us about yourself?
My professional background is within management and finance at a large global retail corporation. Personally, my biggest passion and interest has always been in the crossroads of personal development and relationships. When I started questioning the impact and meaningfulness in my business career, I decided to leave and start my own company within the field of relationship and personal development. The mission is to help people to better relationships through consciousness developing tools and services, and in turn support the creation of a more loving, authentic and inclusive world.
What is the inspiration behind your business?
How unaware we are of how much science and theories there are about relationships and what make them flourish. These are life fundamental things we should be learning in school. Not strange that people choose the wrong partners for them and can’t make marriages work when they never got the knowledge and tools for it. Our quest is to make this knowledge and tools more accessible to people.
What is your magic sauce?
We’re a complete go-to platform for relationship apps and knowledge with the conviction that a great relationship starts with self-knowledge and an ability to communicate authentically. We develop accessible and fun tools that help you get there.
Where do you see your company going in 5 years time?
Market leading relationship company in Europe.
What has been your biggest setback so far?
Recruiting people that did’t match the team and culture.
What is the next big challenge for your business?
Expanding and scaling up to reach more people and let them know we exist.
How do people get involved/buy into your vision?
We are focusing a lot on partnerships now with other brands and organizations to get our tools, knowledge and experiences out to more people. Have an established brand and want to deliver/add more value to your customers and you are in line with our values? Reach out! We will also be raising a series A round for international expansion in late 2022 so are also open for investors who align with our purpose and values.
